Ways to bring people to the board.

Any ideas? First off I want to conclude what this board is intended for. This board is intended for discussion by independent artists and independent minds exploring those artists' art. There will be no flaming or bashing of other people. Negative criticism of bands is of course welcome, as you have the right to dislike anything as well as reserve the right to like anything.

Basically, focused music and art discussion. As it stands, we have 13 members, four of which have posted. It's difficult to hold serious discussion without active forum members.

So, I'd like to brainstorm how we can bring more people here, so we can work together and do so.

I vote on personally recomending the board to friends...That way we stay away from people, at least right now, who will ruin the integrity of the board.

While i agree (for the most part) with what paul is saying about bringing in new people, or whatever, it could also be a good thing to bring in new faces. I mean, if this is a board for learning and sharing, it might not be so bad to bring in more of a diverse field of views.
If we were to look for more people, just make sure you look for people in the right spots. I mean, don't tell all the bands on Stlpunk to to put out mass messages or anything like that. Be selective.

and remember, if we get anybody who decides to shit all over our small neck of the woods, i can just ban them.

you called the poop shit. (i know it's a misquote, i misquoted on purpose) Anyway. Yeah, we'll get down to telling our people and you do the same Paul, and Loren and everybody else. You know, not a lot of our personal friends dig the band too much. It could be that, or the fact we had 20 shows in 3 months. OVERLOAD!

Plus, getting people to go to your shows without a CD to show them is the hardest thing. Hopefully that will change as well with our new EP.

No point in telling our people, joe, because they wouldn't care.
They'd go : "Hey, cool, eh...whatever.."
But we'll still spread this word like it's bird flu.

i have contacted people who I think could contribute greatly to the board discussion, so hopefully they will take it upon themselves to join and post.
